For Indian creators, Canva Pro at ₹500/month covers design, Gamma Plus at ₹500/seat/month covers presentations, and ElevenLabs Starter at ₹528/month is the cheapest tier that carries a commercial licence for voice. For AI video, Google AI Plus at ₹399/month (₹199 intro) is the accessible route. Start free everywhere except ElevenLabs, where free output cannot be used commercially.
Creator tooling in India has one advantage: the three tools you will use most, Canva, Gamma and ElevenLabs, bill in rupees natively, removing the forex tax. What replaces it is subtler: credits, seats and licences that are easy to misread until an invoice or a takedown notice arrives.

Who each tool is for
Canva Pro is for the solo creator producing graphics daily: thumbnails, carousels, reel covers. Business is for when a second person needs approvals and shared brand control.
Gamma is for anyone who pitches: freelancers sending proposals, founders raising, consultants delivering. It is a deck generator, not a general design tool.
ElevenLabs is for voice: narration, dubbing, character work, podcast pickups. The tier you pick is decided by one question, and it is not audio quality. It is the licence.
Google AI Plus or Pro is for creators who want video generation without a separate video subscription, plus Gemini across Gmail, Docs and NotebookLM for scripting.
Pricing in India, including the forex point
Canva, Gamma and ElevenLabs bill Indian users in INR on the web; ElevenLabs’ pricing page has an explicit INR selector. Google prices in INR, and Google Play India states all prices include GST.
Forex matters at the edges of a creator stack. Notion, Perplexity and GitHub Copilot show USD from India. If you use a Notion workspace for content planning, that part is USD-billed at $12/member/mo, or $10/member/mo billed yearly [USD], plus a card forex markup of roughly 2 to 3.5 per cent. Budget for it separately. Our roundup of the best AI subscriptions in India covers where each vendor sits.
One tax detail creators miss: ElevenLabs states its prices exclude taxes, levies and duties, so ₹528 is not the amount leaving your account.
Credits versus seats, explained honestly
This is the part that costs creators money.
Seats are per person. Canva Business is ₹680/person/mo, and Gamma prices per seat at every paid tier. Two collaborators means two seats.
Credits are per action, and the per-action cost is where transparency runs out. Gamma publishes monthly grants clearly, 1,000 on Plus, 4,000 on Pro, 20,000 on Ultra, but per-action credit costs are not published by the vendor and can change. You cannot compute decks per month from the plan page; run a month and measure.
Gamma’s free credits behave differently from paid ones, and this trips people up. Free accounts get 400 credits at signup with no monthly refresh, accumulating to a 2,000 cap, plus 200 per referral. Paid credits refill monthly and roll over up to twice the plan size. On cancellation, credits above 400 are wiped, so stockpiling before you downgrade does not work.
ElevenLabs credits are monthly and tier-scaled: 10,000 on Free, 30,000 on Starter, 121,000 on Creator, 600,000 on Pro, 1.8 million on Scale.
Canva’s AI is a metered allowance rather than a credit balance. Free is capped at roughly 200 Standard and 20 Premium AI uses. Paid allowances appear only as multipliers, with Pro described as 10x Free’s AI allowance, so the absolute number is not published by the vendor. Heavy AI users are steered towards a paid AI Pass add-on, a real cost that never appears on the headline price.
Across the industry, 2026 was the year message counts died and usage windows and credits took over. Treat every headline price as a floor. Our guide to AI subscription costs in India explains how this changes budgeting.
Strengths and limitations, tool by tool
Canva
Strengths: Pro gives 3.6 million-plus templates, 141 million-plus premium assets, five Brand Kits and 100 GB. Business raises that to 100 Brand Kits, approvals, 500 GB, bundled Leonardo.Ai and Flourish, and a 10 per cent print discount. Annual saves about 33 per cent on Pro.
Limitations: the AI allowance is the weak point, and its opacity is a fair criticism, because you cannot plan around a multiplier. If AI generation is central rather than occasional, Canva’s economics are worse than they look and the AI Pass add-on becomes close to mandatory. Per-person billing also scales badly for loose collaborator networks: a freelancer you use twice a month still costs a full seat. Note the naming change, Canva Teams no longer exists; the tier is Canva Business.
Gamma
Strengths: the free tier exports to PDF, PPTX, PNG and Google Slides, which is unusually generous when many competitors paywall export. Plus removes Gamma branding and lifts generation from 10 to 75 slides per prompt. Pro adds API access, 10 custom domains, and custom branding and fonts. Annual billing saves 20 per cent on Plus, about 27 per cent on Pro.
Limitations: the credit model is the honest complaint. Unpublished per-action costs that can change mean your monthly capacity is unknowable in advance. The free tier’s non-renewing credits make it an extended trial rather than a permanent free plan, and the jump from Pro at ₹1,300/seat/mo to Ultra at ₹8,704/seat/mo is steep with nothing in between.
ElevenLabs
Strengths: INR-native pricing, annual billing that saves about 16.7 per cent by giving two months free, and a Creator first-month promo at ₹968. Starter adds Instant Voice Cloning, a Dubbing studio and 20 Studio Projects. Creator adds Professional Voice Cloning and 192 kbps output.
Limitations, and this is the most important line in this article: the ElevenLabs Free tier carries no commercial licence. Ten thousand credits a month and three Studio Projects sound like enough to launch a channel; legally they are not, if you intend to monetise. Starter at ₹528/mo, or ₹440/mo annual, is the cheapest tier that includes a commercial licence. If your video is monetised, sponsored, client work, or promotes a product you sell, you need at least Starter. Do not build a voice-led channel on the free tier and sort the licence out later. There is also no documented student discount, and prices exclude taxes.
Google AI Plus and Pro for video
Strengths: AI Plus at ₹399/mo, intro ₹199/mo for six months, includes video generation in the Gemini app and in Flow, more Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro access, Gemini in Gmail and Docs, expanded NotebookLM, 400 GB storage and family sharing for five. AI Pro at ₹1,950/mo [IN-store] adds 5 TB. The Jio offer gives eligible users AI Pro free for 18 months: ₹349+ 5G plans, age 18+, activated in MyJio, stated value around ₹35,100, no published end date.
Limitations: usage runs on a compute-used model refreshing every five hours up to a weekly limit, so a heavy render session throttles you rather than bills you. Several Ultra-tier benefits are US-only, including Gemini Spark, Chrome auto-browse and AI calling. Deep Research and Flow require you to be 18 or older. Google AI Ultra is ₹19,500/mo [IN-store] with 30 TB; a cheaper Ultra tier launched globally at I/O 2026, but no India SKU is visible.
How to decide
- If you publish anything monetised with an AI voice → ElevenLabs Starter, minimum. The free tier’s missing commercial licence is not a technicality.
- If you make graphics daily and work alone → Canva Pro annual at ₹4,000/yr.
- If you need approvals, multiple brand kits or a second seat → Canva Business at ₹680/person/mo.
- If AI generation is the core of your design work → budget for the AI Pass add-on, or move that work to a tool with published limits.
- If you send more than two decks a month → Gamma Plus. Below that, the free 400 credits may last a year.
- If you need API access or custom domains for client delivery → Gamma Pro annual at ₹11,400/yr.
- If you want AI video without a dedicated video subscription → Google AI Plus at ₹199 intro, checking the Jio offer first.
- If you clone voices professionally rather than using stock ones → ElevenLabs Creator.
Start free, then upgrade
Canva Free genuinely covers a lot: templates, exports, and roughly 200 Standard plus 20 Premium AI uses. A creator posting a few times a week can stay here for months.
Gamma Free gives 400 credits and full export to PDF, PPTX, PNG and Google Slides. Since the credits never refresh, treat it as a fixed budget rather than a monthly one.
ElevenLabs Free gives 10,000 credits a month and three Studio Projects, enough to evaluate voice quality and test a script, but not to publish commercially. Gemini Free at ₹0 lets you test the assistant before paying for AI Plus.
The sequence for most Indian creators: stay free on Canva and Gamma until you hit a named limit, but pay for ElevenLabs Starter the day you start monetising. That is the one place where free is not a smaller version of paid, it is a different licence.
Legitimate ways to pay less
All officially documented by the vendors:
- Annual billing. Canva Pro saves about 33 per cent (₹4,000/yr). Gamma Plus saves 20 per cent (₹4,800/yr), Pro about 27 per cent (₹11,400/yr). ElevenLabs annual gives two months free, about 16.7 per cent.
- ElevenLabs Creator first-month promo — ₹968 against ₹1,936.
- Google AI Plus intro — ₹199/mo for six months.
- Jio × Google AI Pro — free for 18 months for eligible Jio users, activated in MyJio.
- Gamma referrals — 200 additional free credits each.
There is no documented student discount for ElevenLabs, and no self-serve individual student discount for Canva. If a page claims one, it is not coming from the vendor.
Some of these tools also appear in PremiumKing’s AI tools category, including Gamma and ElevenLabs listings. That is separate from the vendor routes above, and worth checking against what each plan actually includes before you commit.
FAQ
Can I use ElevenLabs free voices in a monetised YouTube video? No. The Free tier does not include a commercial licence. Starter at ₹528/mo, or ₹440/mo annual, is the cheapest tier that does. This applies to sponsored content and client work as well as ad revenue.
How many presentations can I make with Gamma Plus’s 1,000 credits? Gamma does not publish per-action credit costs and states they can change, so the figure is not published by the vendor. Plus does raise generation from 10 to 75 slides per prompt and removes Gamma branding. Run a month and measure your own consumption.
Do Gamma’s free credits refresh every month? No. Free accounts receive 400 credits at signup with no monthly refresh, accumulating to a maximum of 2,000, plus 200 per referral. Only paid plans refill monthly, rolling over up to twice the plan size. On cancellation, credits above 400 are wiped.
Is Canva Teams still a plan? No. Canva Teams no longer exists; the tier is now Canva Business at ₹680/person/mo or ₹6,800/person/yr, with 100 Brand Kits, approvals, 500 GB, bundled Leonardo.Ai and Flourish, and a 10 per cent print discount.
Which creator tools bill Indian users in rupees? Canva, Gamma, ElevenLabs and QuillBot bill in INR natively on the web, and Google prices in INR with GST included on Google Play India. Notion, Perplexity and GitHub Copilot show USD, so a forex markup of roughly 2 to 3.5 per cent applies there.
Is Google AI Plus enough for AI video, or do I need AI Pro? AI Plus at ₹399/mo (₹199 intro for six months) includes video generation in the Gemini app and Flow. AI Pro at ₹1,950/mo [IN-store] adds 5 TB. Both run on a compute-used model refreshing every five hours up to a weekly limit, and Flow requires you to be 18 or older.
