If you want three or more streaming services, a bundle is almost always cheaper than buying them one at a time. Airtel Xstream Play at ₹149 for 30 days is the cheapest serious entry point — 20+ apps on 2 screens for less than a single Netflix Mobile plan. Tata Play Binge Infinity at ₹399/month is the widest, with 37 apps on 4 devices.
The catch, and it is a real one: bundles rarely include Netflix or Prime Video. If those two are your main services, a bundle is an add-on to your spending, not a replacement for it.
What each bundle actually gives you
Airtel Xstream Play
- ₹149 / 30 days — 20+ OTT apps in a single app, 2 simultaneous screens. Includes SonyLIV, Lionsgate Play, Hoichoi, ShemarooMe, Chaupal, ErosNow, ManoramaMax, Epic ON, HungamaPlay, Docubay, ShortsTV, Ultra, Divo, Klikk, Nammaflix, Dollywood and live sport.
- ₹199 / month — everything above plus JioHotstar Super. This is the value pick: JioHotstar Super costs ₹149/month on its own, so the other 20 apps effectively cost ₹50.
- ₹1,499 / 365 days — the annual Xstream Play plan, about ₹125/month.
Tata Play Binge
- Flexi Smart — ₹199/month — choose any 3 apps, 4 devices at a time.
- Flexi Max — ₹299/month — choose any 6 apps, 4 devices.
- Infinity — ₹399/month — all 37 apps, 4 devices.
Tata Play’s advantage is the 4-device limit across the board — even on the cheapest tier. Airtel’s ₹149 pack caps you at 2 screens. For a family of four, Flexi Smart at ₹199 may beat Airtel’s ₹149 despite costing more.
Is a bundle actually cheaper for you? Do this maths
Write down the services you genuinely watch, at their annual prices:
- SonyLIV Premium — ₹1,499/year
- Lionsgate Play, Hoichoi, ShemarooMe, Chaupal and similar — roughly ₹300–₹700/year each
- JioHotstar Super — ₹1,099/year
Three of those bought separately is roughly ₹2,900–₹3,300 a year. Airtel Xstream Play annual is ₹1,499 and includes all of them plus seventeen more. That is where the saving lives.
But if your list is “Netflix and Prime Video and nothing else”, no bundle helps you. Neither is in Airtel’s or Tata Play’s standard packs. In that case buy them direct: Prime Annual ₹1,499 and Netflix at the tier you need.
The honest downsides of bundles
- You get the bundle’s apps, not your apps. Tata Play’s Flexi plans let you choose; Airtel’s Xstream Play does not.
- The big two are usually missing. Netflix and Prime Video are the two most-wanted services and the two least likely to be included.
- Apps enter and leave. A bundle’s line-up on the day you subscribe is not a promise for the whole term. Check the current list before an annual purchase.
- You watch through the bundle’s player. With Xstream Play you often watch inside Airtel’s app rather than the service’s own, which can mean fewer features and a different download experience.
- Cancelling is all-or-nothing. You cannot drop one app from a bundle to save money.
