Netflix Plans in India (2026): Every Plan, Price & How to Pay Less

Last updated: 9 August 2026. Every price on this page was checked against Netflix India’s own help centre the same day.

Netflix has four plans in India: Mobile ₹149, Basic ₹199, Standard ₹499 and Premium ₹649 per month. The plan decides three things — how many people can watch at once, what resolution you get, and whether it works on a TV at all. Mobile is phone-and-tablet only and cannot cast to a television.

Key takeaways

  • Netflix India has four plans, ₹149 to ₹649 a month. There is no annual plan and no free trial in India.
  • Only Premium (₹649) gives 4K, HDR and four simultaneous screens. It is also the only plan with Netflix spatial audio.
  • Mobile (₹149) cannot be cast or mirrored to a TV. That is Netflix’s own restriction, not a device problem.
  • Screens at once and download devices are different limits — Premium allows 4 screens but 6 download devices.
  • Split across four people in one home, Premium works out to ₹162 each — cheaper per person than the ₹149 Mobile plan, and in 4K.
  • India still sells the Basic ₹199 plan. The US discontinued it; India did not.

Standard₹4991080p (Full HD)22Yes5 Mbps
Premium₹6494K (Ultra HD) + HDR46Yes15 Mbps

All four plans are ad-free and include games. Every plan allows up to 5 profiles — profiles are not the same as simultaneous screens, and how many devices each plan actually allows is worth checking before you pick one.

Over a year, Premium costs ₹7,788 and even Mobile adds up to ₹1,788. That is why “how do I get Netflix cheaper?” is one of India’s most-searched streaming questions — there are seven legitimate ways to cut your Netflix bill, and we go through all of them separately.

Which plan should you pick?

  • You only watch on your phone: Mobile (₹149) is enough — but it is 480p and will not play or cast to a TV at all. If there is any chance you will want the big screen, pay the extra ₹50 for Basic.
  • You watch on a laptop or a small TV: Basic (₹199) covers you, but it’s still 720p — text and dark scenes look soft on big screens.
  • Two people share the account: Standard (₹499) gives Full HD and two simultaneous screens.
  • Family, 4K TV, or serious binge-watcher: Premium (₹649) is the only plan with 4K, HDR and four screens — and it’s the plan most people actually want but hesitate to pay for.

How to pay less for Netflix in India

Three changes save most people the most money:

  • Right-size the plan. If you only watch on your phone, Mobile at ₹149 saves ₹6,000 a year versus Premium. Change it from Account then Change Plan; it applies from your next billing date and nothing in your profile is lost.
  • Check your telecom or broadband bill first. Several Jio postpaid and broadband plans already include Netflix, and Airtel and Tata Play bundle it on higher tiers. A lot of people pay twice without realising.
  • Split Premium inside your household. Four people in one home paying ₹649 between them is ₹162 each, in 4K — less per head than the Mobile plan, and entirely within what Netflix counts as your household.

Card offers, rotating services instead of stacking them, and festival bundles are worth a look too. We cover all seven approaches — plus the “cheap Netflix” offers that will get your account blocked — in the full guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Netflix free trial in India?

No. Netflix removed free trials in India several years ago and has not brought them back. The cheapest way in is the ₹149 Mobile plan. Any site advertising a “Netflix free trial hack” is either wasting your time or after your card details.

Does Netflix India have an annual plan?

No. All four Netflix India plans are billed monthly — there is no yearly plan and no long-duration discount from Netflix itself. If you see a “1 year Netflix” offer, it is not coming from Netflix.

Can I share my Netflix password with friends?

Not under Netflix’s rules. Netflix’s India help centre states plainly: “You may not share your Netflix account outside of your household.” Sharing inside your home is fine, and Standard and Premium are built for it.

Does the Mobile plan work on a TV?

No. Netflix’s own plan page says casting or mirroring from a mobile device “is not supported on this plan”. You need Basic at ₹199 or above for TV viewing.

What is the difference between screens and download devices?

Screens are how many people can stream at the same time. Download devices are how many separate devices can store offline titles. They are different limits — Premium gives you 4 screens but 6 download devices.

Bottom line

Netflix in India costs ₹149–₹649/month depending on quality and screens. Pick the plan that matches the screen you actually watch on, check whether your telecom plan already includes it, and if there are three or four of you in one household, split Premium — at ₹162 per person in 4K it is the best value Netflix sells in India, and it is fully within Netflix’s own household rules.

Buying from PremiumKing

If ₹649 a month for Netflix Premium is more than you want to spend, there is one more option on this site. We sell a Netflix Premium 1-screen login in 1, 3, 6 and 12-month terms from ₹100, delivered by email in 30–180 minutes with replacement cover for your full plan period.

Be clear on the trade-offs first: one stream at a time, the account email and phone cannot be changed, the Netflix catalogue varies by country, and Netflix’s terms state an account may not be shared outside one household. All of it is listed openly on the product page — read it before you order.
